Insurance and Out-of-Network Benefits

Dr. Kris Radcliff sees patients with most commercial health insurance plans, including plans through employers and the marketplace. Our team checks your benefits before your visit so you know what to expect. If you have questions, call us at 609-800-3472.

Do you take my insurance?

Most likely yes. Dr. Radcliff accepts most commercial insurance plans. For many of these plans he is an out-of-network provider. That does not mean you cannot see him. It means your plan pays for your care under its out-of-network benefits.

Dr. Radcliff does not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

What does out-of-network mean for me?

Many commercial plans, especially PPO and POS plans, include out-of-network benefits. With these benefits, your plan pays part of the cost of seeing a specialist outside its network. Your share depends on your plan’s out-of-network deductible and coinsurance.

Before your first visit, our staff will:

  • Check whether your plan has out-of-network benefits
  • Explain what your plan is likely to cover
  • Answer your questions about cost before you commit to anything

HMO and EPO plans usually do not cover out-of-network care except in an emergency. If you have one of these plans, call us and we will help you understand your options.

What about surgery?

If surgery is recommended, our team handles the prior authorization with your insurance company and reviews the expected costs with you before your surgery date. You will not be asked to decide on surgery until you understand your coverage.

Workers’ compensation and auto accidents

Dr. Radcliff also treats patients whose care is covered by workers’ compensation or auto insurance (PIP). Call us and our staff will explain how coverage works for your claim.

Your rights under the No Surprises Act

If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of the expected charges before your visit or procedure. Ask our staff for one, or learn more at cms.gov/nosurprises.
